Frank Karunaratne

Frank Karunaratne

Top-order batsman Dimuth Karunaratne had only played six one-day internationals when he was selected in Sri Lanka’s ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 squad, but he had already marked himself as one of his country’s emerging talents. Although still inexperienced at international level, the gifted opening batsman has performed admirably in first-class cricket. Making his ODI debut against England in 2011, Karunaratne scored 60 in his second match.  An injury to Tillakaratne Dilshan paved the way for his entry into the Test side against New Zealand in late 2012. He has made six Test hundreds with a top-score of 186.

He is another alumnus of the St Joseph's College side that produced Angelo Mathews and Thisara Perera.
